I am curious if any one on this Tribe has
considered or confirmed an allergy to eggs?
Long ago I discovered that I was extremely
allegic to them. Basically they had destroyed my
health & was working on my sanity.
Though I don't Hate Eggs they have always
disgusted me as a food & I am abhored by the
ingesting of them. The smell can cause me to vomit &
once I actually passed out.
Reading through some of the responses there are
similiar comments to thoughts I have had.
Very interesting to find a Tribe devoted to this.

Re: Hate or Allergy??
Mon, June 20, 2005 - 9:56 PMHmm. i have the same thing going on with tomatoes - the hate and the unmanageable smell and the full of death and all.
The strange thing is, cooked tomatoes don't smell or taste bad or make me sick or anything. Something about a protien that gets denatured when you heat it.

Re: Hate or Allergy??
Thu, June 30, 2005 - 9:53 AMHmmm... I don't think it's an alergy, though I guess it coule be. I could never stomach the taste long enough to find out how they effect me when I actually swallow one... aside from the one time in the 2nd grade when the teacher forced us all to eat boiled egg at recess.
Onions on the other hand... those I do believe I have an allergy to. I think an onion-haters tribe would suit me more than an egg-hater's tribe because onions effect me more badly and are even more ubiquitous than eggs. There isn't a single culture I'm aware of that doesn't haphazardly throw onions into almost every single dish they cook. -

Re: Hate or Allergy??
Sat, July 2, 2005 - 11:20 AMI strongly believe that if a substance is repugnant to the nose, mouth or skin they are doing their job of protecting us from toxins aka allergens that our personal biobody would not be able to utilize.
Modern society is so far away from knowing that food is strong biochemicals that affects the body for good or bad.
I agree about the haphazard use of onions & worse garlic. I do like both but in moderation & when I want them not bcz they accompany salt & sugar to make up a stong after taste so I think I have eaten something satisfying when all the combination is is an addictive bomb for the digestive/immune organs.
An what is with people that really think Garlic or Chile Peppers cures everything!?! Uhhh I'm sorry; it's just that you stink so bad no one can get near enough to give ou a disease.......... -

Re: Hate or Allergy??
Sun, July 24, 2005 - 9:44 AMHeh heh. I remember reading about studies that show various vegetables having antibacterial qualities. At the top of the list, as the most replusive to a wide variety of bacteria was the onion. It is closely followed by garlic and cayenne peppers.
The studies I read were not conclusive in regards to whether eating these vegetables actually confers these qualities onto you, but still encouraged everyone to eat a lot of onions and garlic. *Shrug* I don't know as they really cure much, but if you can handle these things then they're probably not bad for you.
